Nancy's success was not without challenges. After winning her first two
World Championships, she was eventually forced to contend with a nagging
knee injury which latter resulted in four surgeries. Not one to make
excuses, Nancy continued to train through, and around her restrictions.
This is the competitive fire which separates those who simply want
something from those who are willing to work for it.
This mentality is also reflected in the Lift for Life article "When
you can't do what you want, at least do what you can".
In spite of the setback, Nancy intended to compete in yet another World
Championship in 2003. Nancy revised her training program and contest
preparations dramatically in response to the condition of her knee. With
the guidance of her physical therapist Lisa Knox, and competition expert
Dr. Joe Klemczewski, Nancy accomplished her
goal.
Nancy's unwavering commitment to
drug free physical excellence has made
her a true role model within the natural bodybuilding community and
beyond.
