How did you get started in Bodybuilding?

 

For as long as I remembered I was always working out since my mom and dad purchased some plastic coated cement weights. I used those weights for about 10 years until I could afford to go to a real gym with real weights. 10 years later and I still didn't have a clue as to what I was doing, it was then that I met my wife Adelia and she "showed me the way" She ate clean, she knew some very well known people in the Drug tested INBF/WNBF organization. We decided to do our first show together in 1998 and I was in love, not only with her but with the natural physique. Since then, I have competed in over 20 shows, receiving many 1st place in many of them Still at the age of 46, I am still on top of my game and loving every minute of it. I continued my education in physical fitness, received my certification in 2000 and now train other individuals for a number of reasons...be it getting ready for a competition or simply because they want to increase the quality of their life.
 

I am now involved with several aspects of bodybuilding. Along with two other individuals, Craig Lindberg and Melissa Kelley, we run an 8 week 3 hour boot camp to prepare individuals for up coming drug tested competitions (go to www.opcfitness.com for more info). We prepare these individuals for Figure and Bodybuilding through 1 hour of posing training, 1 hour of core training and 1 hour of specific topics relating to competing.

 

Another aspect I am involved in is creating websites for individuals who are in the fitness related field. This includes Natural Body Builders Rafael Vazquez (Octobers athlete of the month) Shaun "The Giant Killer" Clarida and WNBF PRO Figure competitor Melissa Kelley. What is your training philosophy?

Steve Constantine relaxedSet a long term goal and do what ever it takes and make what ever time you can to keep your health in check for as long as you can to reach that goal and beyond. I am now 46, my only son is 4...when he is graduating from school in 13 years I will be close to 60. Now to me, that is my incentive goal to be healthy enough to continue to enjoy life with my own son for the next couple of decades.
 

What is your diet like?

Ultimate orange with a fat burner before working out.

Breakfast: 1 cup of oatmeal with 2 scoops of protein. Add Splenda and Cinamon for flavor

Mid Morning: I scoop of Cytogainer and 1 scoop of 100% Whey protein

Lunch: 1 Cup of whole wheat pasta with 1/2 breast of chicken

Mid afternoon: I scoop of Cytogainer and 1 scoop of 100% Whey protein

Late afternoon: 2 rice cakes with peanut butter

Dinner: Large omelet with 3 cheeses egg white, 2 slices of FF Cheese and 1/2 breast of chicken with half of that going into the omelet and the other half going into a salad.
 

 

Who are your role models?

Any individual who is now in their 50's and above who trains hard to compete up on stage. It doesn't matter what you look like on stage, just knowing that you are accomplishing a goal that I would like to accomplish is setting a good enough role model for me.


What advice would you give to new athletes?

Set you goals, don't expect overnight success and continue to plug away to sculpture your body into the finest physique men and women have ever seen
